I will be picking up the Tormek® Hand-Tool Kit today but may not be able to play with it (or should I say use it) until April 4th on my birthday.   

Time to dull some knives & Scissors.
Wait a minute they are dull.

Hello every one

Here is a product you may be interested in picking.
It is a Cap Iron Plane Screwdriver.

A regular screwdriver just doesn't work well on cap iron screws. A narrow blade can mar the cap-screw slot, and there's always the risk that the screwdriver tip will slip out of the slot altogether.
We designed this screwdriver to make it both safe and easy to remove, replace or adjust cap irons.

It has a turned brass collar surrounding the tip to capture the head of a cap iron screw up to 21/32" in diameter, and a generous bubinga knob for a comfortable, secure grip.

The slot-style tip is durable alloy steel. Not only for Veritas® planes, it fits all standard cap iron screws on current and vintage Record and Stanley planes as well as others based on them.

Planer Blade Sharpening / Tilt Shoes & Water Chute for Long Tools

Has anyone noticed that the Tilt Shoes are not quite enough tilt to prevent water dripping off to the left onto the housing?

I added a 1/4" spacer to lift the left a little more & that seams to be enough to keep the water at bay.

General Tormek Questions / Tormek Original Grindstone SG-250

Hello Tormek users.

I have a question about the Tormek Original Grindstone SG-250.

I have noticed that my stone goes out of round after a day or two.
The stone seemed to be in good shape when last used but the next time I use it it needs to be trued using the Truing Tool.

To test my situation I trued the stone at the end of my sharpening session & after a day or two tested it & sure enough it was out of round again.

The one thing that comes to mind is that it may be happening because the bottom of the stone is in water causing it to change shape from the difference in watter content from the top being dry & bottom being wet.

Has any one noticed this?
Should I remove the Water Trough when not in use?
