Yes
I sharpened 5 kitchen knives (Henckels) & one pair of Scissors
All successful 1rst try & able to slice paper waving the cut in many S curves with out a catch at all
Like Butter

The Scissors are a very old pair of Swiss made Scissors That have been around since I was a kid & have been used to cut things like copper wire (until I was cot doing that as a kid) & any thing that I could think of.

Man I love this system

I will be picking up the TormekĀ® Hand-Tool Kit today but may not be able to play with it (or should I say use it) until April 4th on my birthday.  ;D  ::)

Time to dull some knives & Scissors.
Wait a minute they are dull. :D

Your welcome Ken

Yes it is very well made & finished.
I keep mine in the bubble package it came with in the drawer with my planes so it does not get scratched.

Glad it works with your eclipse jig

Ionut

I'm not sure what you mean by your comment "even though there is a lot of humidity in the air where I live"

You make it sound like we live in wet environment like a coastal rain Forrest, Oh that's rite we do!  ;)

Boy are you rite.

Yes it isn't a big deal now that we have a Tormek.

Another plus if you are looking a Veritas is the fact that the blade is thicker then many others.

I would go with A2 my self because the edge will last longer but that's just my opinion.

Has any one out there had any experience with glue line rip blades?
If so can you let us know what brand & how well they worked & is there a thickness barrier.
