RB-180
« on: May 11, 2012, 08:48:39 am »
Jeff,

Can you provide any details on how the RB-180 is made?  This is something the Tormek has needed for a long time, and this might save me from making one myself - but the only picture I've seen makes it look like cheap plastic.  What's the material?  What is the rotating mechanism?  What keeps it from rotating during grinding?  Any additional insight would be appreciated!

I have one.  It is not cheaply made.  It is some form of a polymer that can handle the weight of the sharpener.  I love it!  It is one of the best accessories they have made.  It saves a lot of lifting, and water spilling every time I turned it to hone.  It you like the idea... buy it.  Don't try to make it.  It is not a "lazy susan". :)

I read on another forum that any Tormek unit purchased in June will include a free RB-180.  Can anyone confirm that?

I was wondering about a June special also, as I saw a couple places selling it with a free RB-180, and was wondering if Amazon was going to be doing the same?
