General Tormek Questions / Re: Tormek Price Increases

Sharpco, congratulations on becoming a Tormek dealer. When I decided to do sharpening I watched many videos, including many of yours. I was always impressed with how clean your shop is. Now, whenever I look around my shop and it’s a bit messy, I think back to your videos, then grab the broom and dustpan!

Best of luck in your businesses!

Thanks.

Recently, I set up a 2x72 belt grinder next to the Tormek. Yeah, it makes a lot of dust but I clean it as if I were cleaning Tormek.

Tormek and belt grinder are a fantastic combination :)

Drill Bit Sharpening / Re: Can I sharpen it with DBS-22?

The primary and secondary facets can be sharpened, but you will need to rotate it between each of the flutes.  The tertiary facet is different.

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you. My DBS-22 will be arrived today. I'll try it someday.

Congratulations, Sharpco! You will make a very good Tormek dealer with years of Tormek sharpening experience.

Thank you Ken.

There is a side effect. I can buy Tormek and its accessaries at a low price :)

General Tormek Questions / Re: Alternative ACC-150
« on: November 16, 2020, 12:21:26 pm »
In these days,  I have been 1 year using Tormek DF-250 and Tormek DE-250 with tap water only; without ACC-150 or another corrosion inhibitor.
At least, for knives every day from Tuesday to Saturday.

Both wheels are in perfect state.

The only point to consider during the work with this wheels is to dry them just after use.
This is my experience.

Regards

That's great!

But someone fails to manage and rusts the wheels.

Somebody said Kool mist is not a perfect corrosion inhibitor. I'll test it soon.

We need ACC-150 to use Diamond wheels.

How about Kool Mist as alternative?

No idea... but just looking at their website, it looks like “Formula #78” would be the better option? (vs. the #77 you linked to).

https://koolmist.com/formula-78-for-light-duty

Rust prevention doesn’t seem to be the primary purpose, but the msds sheets, also on their website, should give you more info on if it’ll work.

Yes. #78 is for light duty, so maybe it's better option than #77.

I ordered #77 to use with belt grinder and it will be arrived in a few days. I still use ACC-150 with CBN wheels on the Tormek, but I thought it would be a good solution for someone looking for a cheaper alternative.

Yes
Vadim cant deliver a long time so i get Contact to the Manufactor and order my own.
after the people here in Europe saw my videos, the whole thing really got to me. So I decided, either completely or not at all and have all parts I use produced by myself and sell them with the CBN-Wheels in my shop. At the moment it is a little bit difficult to deliver to the USA because the freight costs have risen extremely due to covid-19. on top of that there is a different fee depending on the postcode. therefore i only send to the states after clarification of the freight costs by mail.

cheers Hanns

Thank you for answer.

Perhaps the difference is insignificant. Both are good abrasive, but I wonder if there are any researches.
