Freehand grinding
« on: May 23, 2022, 02:01:25 pm »
I’ve had my Tormek since 1995 or so. Has anyone figured out how to freehand grind on the platform in the horizontal position on the vertical side so the wheel is pulling the tool down?  I can’t do a 40 40 grind on the horizontal side because it pulls the tool up onto the wheel. Maybe drill holes in the vertical supports?
Holding a turning tool vertically is pretty awkward.

Not exactly sure what you're trying to accomplish, but would a Front Vertical Base mounted this way...
