Overview

Why DE-200 Diamond Wheel Extra Fine?

  • Diamond grinding wheel for Tormek T-4
  • Provides an extra smooth finish.
  • Constant shape, always maintains the same diameter.
  • Sharpens all types of steel and ceramic.
  • Allows sharpening on the side of the grinding wheel to get a completely flat bevel.
  • Exceptional durability with diamond, the world's hardest abrasive.

A grinding wheel for all materials

With this diamond wheel, you can sharpen nearly any type of material, including steel, ceramic and carbide. DE-200 Diamond Wheel Extra Fine fits Tormek T-4 Original, Tormek T-4 Bushcraft, Tormek T-3 and earlier models with a 200 mm diameter grinding wheel.

The DE-200 Diamond Wheel Extra Fine is especially appraised by woodcarvers and others who needs their bevels to have a mirror finish. If you need to create a new edge or shape, we recommend you do that on a coarser grinding wheel at first, such as the DC-200 Diamond Wheel Coarse or DF-200 Diamond Wheel Fine. Then you can give the finishing touch with the DE-200 Diamond Wheel Extra Fine for a mirror polish.

Simplifies repeat sharpening

All of Tormek's diamond grinding wheels have exceptional durability with a constant removal rate and shape, which means that they always stay round and flat with a full-size diameter. Users who often sharpen the same tool benefit greatly from this, as it simplifies both setting up and sharpening.

Get a completely flat bevel

The constant shape makes it possible to grind either on the side of the wheel or on its upper surface. Side grinding is perfect for smaller tools such as knives, chisels, carving gouges and v-tools. The result is an edge with a completely flat bevel, instead of a slight hollow grind.

For sharpening on the side of the diamond wheels, we recommend using the MB-102 Multi Base together with the jig designed for your specific tool. Both the base and the jigs give you support and control throughout the sharpening process. If you're not sure which jig you should use, find out here.

Rust protection for increased service life

All diamond wheels are supplied with 150 ml of ACC-150 Anti-Corrosion Concentrate. Always add the concentrate to the water when sharpening with water to prevent rust on the grinding wheel. Add 10 ml of concentrate to 250 ml water (~4 %). We recommend always using water when sharpening diamond wheels, as it both prolongs the life of the wheel and provides a smoother grinding surface. It is also possible to sharpen without water. Learn more about sharpening with diamond grinding wheels.

Reviews

Statements Tormek Friends

I have been using the Tormek diamond wheels for about two years both in my production business and my class room. It has performed superbly during that time. I love that it remains flat with no dressing and it creates an excellent edge each time in seconds. I have found that I had much better results when I used water as a lubricant, keeping the wheel clean without maintenance.

Using the Tormek Diamond Wheel is a dream. Personally, I still prefer to use water as it keeps the tool edge and the wheel clean, but it works just as well dry. The fact that it doesn’t rust, and no dressing is necessary is a huge bonus and with three grits to choose from it’s another great addition to the Tormek range. Maybe diamonds are a man’s best friend as well.
